Methods
Clone-Censor-Weight Analysis
Clone-censor-weighting is a modern analytic approach that advances beyond traditional propensity-score matching and evaluates complex clinical questions concerning optimal management of disease over time. Target RWE has successfully implemented clone-censor-weighting methods across a range of therapeutic areas and patient populations. In the approach, patients are copied – or “cloned” – into one cohort per treatment protocol, allowing for the comparison of specific treatment sequences observed in the real world. In each cloned cohort, patients are then artificially censored when they deviate from treatment sequence under study and reweighted to reflect the original target population.
Predictive Modeling with Machine Learning
Predictive modeling using machine learning methods has many applications in healthcare; however, creating predictive models with healthcare data can present numerous challenges. Predictor variables of interest may not exist in data and require algorithms that may be subject to substantial measurement error.
