Director of Clinical Epidemiology and Scientific Publications
Dr. Heather Morris is currently serving as the Director for Clinical Epidemiology and Scientific Publications for Target RWE Health Evidence Solutions. In her role at Target RWE, Dr. Morris contributes to the design of research in the HCC, NASH, and COVID-19 communities. Prior to joining Target RWE, Heather was the Associate Director for Population Health for the OneFlorida Clinical Research Consortium at the University of Florida. In this role, she was an active member on the Diabetes and Obesity Collaborative working group through the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute and was a site PI for a number of multi-site PCORI Rapid Cycle Research projects.
For six years, Dr. Morris was the faculty lead for the external quality review of Florida Children’s Medical Services Managed Care Plan in the Department of Health Outcomes and Biomedical Informatics. While overseeing contract work, Dr. Morris also collaborated with investigators primarily in endocrinology with projects focused on promoting health equity for patients with Type 1 Diabetes, developing a computable phenotype to accurately identify pediatric patients with Type 1 Diabetes, assessing prevalence and incidence of Type 2 Diabetes at PCORI sites, and a project using machine learning to develop a computable phenotype to identify patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Dr. Morris received her PhD from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2014.
